I was so blessed to be a stay-at-home mom! Most of my adult life was spent managing our digs and raising our five kids, whom I adore. Our abode was busy and bustling. It was my classroom, and I’ve had an endless number of opportunities to figure out how to make my home and daily life simpler, smoother, and more organized.

Confession time! As a young wife and mom, I was really bad at cleaning, cooking and organizing. I’ll give you a peek in: if a guest showed up unannounced, they would be sure to find enough food particles under the kitchen table to make themselves a snack…clean laundry rarely ever made it up to the bedrooms, each stair tread leading to the second floor possessed a clothing pile…my husband was served more than a reasonable amount of boiled hot dogs with boxed mac-n-cheese, which he didn’t complain much about except maybe when I didn’t get the fake cheese evenly distributed…I plopped one of my boys so frequently in font of “The Lion King” in order to get stuff done that he started roaring (with great enthusiasm) at strangers! (Okay, I love that one!)

As my tactics for keeping a well-ordered home and schedule were missing the mark, my mind started working. How can I save time here, how can my life be more organized there, what is a simpler way to do this, and what is a more efficient strategy for that? I started coming up with improved ways of doing things. In other words, I started Tweaking My Reality… and I haven’t stopped. As a result, I have so much to share with you!
